The research firm raised the fiscal 2005 and 2006 earnings-per-share estimates to 49 cents and 76 cents, respectively, from 47 cents and 72 cents, "to reflect a better new program pipeline in the fiscal second half of 2005 and modest margin improvement." Banc of America has a $10.50 target price on Plexus. "Excluding a one-time 'inventory adjustment,' fiscal first-quarter 2005 pro-forma earnings per share of 11 cents beat our and the consensus estimate of 10 cents," Banc of America said. The research firm said Plexus is currently trading at 19 times its calendar 2005 earnings-per-share estimate, which is at the high end of the industry range, "somewhat tempering our move to an even more positive rating." Banc of America says it sees "limited downside" potential to its earnings estimates on Plexus. Elsewhere in its coverage of electronics manufacturing services and the electronics supply chain, Banc of America's top pick is Amphenol (nyse: APH - news - people ), rated at "buy" with a $42 target price. | ||
