Polycom to buy back shares Tue Aug 9, 2005 09:08 AM ET BANGALORE, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Polycom Inc. (PLCM.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Tuesday said its board of directors had approved a share repurchase program for up to $250 million of its common stock. The conferencing communication provider said purchases may be made from time to time in the open market and will be funded from available working capital. This increased repurchase program supersedes the prior program announced on Aug. 6, 2004. |

The initial offering, currently scheduled for release in late 2004, combines the presence awareness and instant messaging capabilities of Microsoft Office Live Communications Server and Windows Messenger with Polycom's widely installed ViewStation EX, FX and VSX desktop and group video conference systems; SoundPoint and SoundStation IP handsets and conference phones; MGC voice and video bridges; and the WebOffice conference portal. |
