http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Health-Grades-Inc-Agrees-to-bw-3437241501.html?x=0 &.v=1 HGRD to be acquired for over $8 per share. One of the first stocks I ever owned - symbol SCNI at the time. It got caught up in the huge runup in the late 90's then crashed all the way to $.0X (pennies per share) and traded there for quite a while. Amazing. Believe it or not, it doesn't. That growth only counts Utah and Venezuela. It would not be kosher to count, or even project, revenue from wells that have not even been drilled, in a field that has not been derisked. |

My time horizon? Really, I am holding for Indonesia results. That's the potential jackpot. A hit in Indonesia could easily be a price multiplier. Their first well should be spudding any day now, so maybe results by late August? |

my 1st thought was nearly the same, have all the armchair quarterbacks already bought it?? Who knows.... In your time horizon it doesn't matter as much unless you don't feel you can hold it all under selling pressure, if that happens. |

I don't know whether being on top of that is good or bad for HNR (of which I own multiple boatloads). Since it at E-Trade it probably attracts a lot of fast money weak hands traders (present company excepted) who will bail at the least provocation... |

It was a really nice earnings report, with EPS tripling y/y and zooming past analyst's estimates. I have to admit being almost short of breath at these PE levels. $400 seems a convenient place to step out, although 500 may be weeks away. Even at current prices, the company's value is only 15 billion. Not much for the future of hospital surgical procedures. |

I was looking at PBY and averaging in at a slow pace as it seemed to be going nowhere and I thought I could get even lower priced shares. Then a few days later it seems to have started to go up with my boat only half loaded. Anybody follow this stock and have an opinion regarding continuing to buy or just holding tight and let this ship sail only half loaded? |

Some discussion a couple years ago about OMN. At the time I was real negative on them. I think that they have turned the ship around and may be worth a look. I personally will not buy any of their stock as one of their divisions is a direct competitor to my employer etc. Decent earnings announced today being discounted by the market. They just recently went profitable after a long period of struggling. They are a direct competitor to the company where I work. At least their decorative products division is a direct competitor. I believe that this Cramer pop is a great time to take a longer term short. I have been wanting to for some time but figured that they may jump at some point. Overall they compete in very competitive businesses and their management has never impressed me although they have made some real progress at cutting costs. Unfortunately for them they are losing some good employees. They are coming to work for my company. I have no shorting margin currently but hope to generate some shortly and will short them given the pop lasts long enough. |

I am sorry to keep this short without back up. However, does anyone have an idea on how to play TIVO. With the lawsuits seemingly going in their favour over patents on how dvds work, does anyone think going long is a better bet than going short? I am in Marina Del Ray, CA at this moment. |

Anybody follow IPSU? I'm long 2000 shares and considering buying long calls. They suffered an explosion of a refinery and rebuilt it. Back on line fully for Q4 this year. I have to believe it is state of the art and more efficient than competitors if possible. Seems that they made 2 or 3 dollars a share a few years ago and sugar may be in a shortage situation and is not very linked to the economy, so I think it does well no matter what. Only legal issues over the 14 deaths from the explosion remain to be finalized but may be insured. |

Is the world done using coal forever? It seems to me stocks like ACI are a screaming if one has a long time horizon. I'd guess they are being hurt by cap and trade fears, but I can't believe coal won't have another run at some point. (Message edited by Tree-sloth on June 28, 2009) |

T/S - I am short some WYNN calls, and have been watching the whole sector go nuts over the last six weeks. WYNN uses any excuse to go up. The last 20% or so was when they rolled over some debt. The market treated like they had discovered oil or something. Banks have no choice but to roll over loans, so what's the surprise? |

ADC was down around 10% today. And they just renewed their dividend. Small caps have been dumped more than the general market recently. That alone has my interest. |

Thanks... it certainly is much less solid than ADC. The German guy who just bought $112m of stock must be royally teed off about their cutting the dividend. Could he have known they would do that and not waited until afterward? Still, if SPX removal cuts the stock price low enough, I may take a flyer... |

DDR is much more leveraged and lost money in the most recent quarter. It failed my screen on both accounts. I wanted a company with less leverage (less than 50% debt to capital) and earnings sustainability in the positive range. |

Sivleyd - when looking at ADC, did you look at DDR? From the stock price behavior, clearly not as strong. Also turned 20-cent dividend into 2 cents and stock (last night). Finally, they are bottom of the totem pole in the S&P 500, and their removal will likely be announced tonight or tomorrow. Still, their assets "appear" to be as sound as ADC's (my totally superficial evaluation), they have just gotten a major cash infusion from a German investor (at a much higher stock price), and they would seem to have a higher upside than downside, at this point. Unless more bad news comes out, I will probably buy them, on-the-close, the day they are removed from the SPX... |

Mall owners will suffer along with retailers. But as long as the retailer is solvent they have to pay their long term leases. So it is less of a drag on the mall owners, and there is time for the economy to recover. Of course, if the economy never recovers.... |

ADC/BMR ADC - Gee, I don't think I could bring myself to own a mall stock. I think retail may well end up being worse than we can even imagine. And when you're in a mall, a few stores going down can "curse" the rest, and losing an anchor store is even worse. BMR - Do you know the nature of the companies they rent to? if it's Genentech, that's one thing, If it's startups, that's another. Other notes - - their A/P is falling and their A/R is rising. I don't know why, but that's good. - do you know if they have more of those swaps? They took a real bath on the ones they just closed. - they did great selling all that new stock last year, at 3+ times today's price - they are down over 20% since announcing Q4 earnings, which I would normally consider a bad thing, but I guess is a good thing for someone who has already decided to buy - the interest rates they are paying on their various debts are great, which means they can only get worse - they seem to have a lot of preferred stock. I am superstitious about that. Makes me wonder what the preferred buyers might know that the common folk don't. - they would seem to be depreciating at a very low rate. $100m/year for $3b in assets does not seem right. - what are those "derivative instruments"? More swaps, I suppose. Looks ominous, but I guess it could always be a good thing... OK, I'm tired of trying to sound intelligent about something I'm completely ignorant of..... |

I agree that the extra high yield is a red flag. There are lots of stocks that will be reducing those fat yields. And yes, I bought about 30 minutes from close. But with the market sinking like a rock, I figure that may not make much difference. |

I hope you got those at the end of the day, and not the beginning! I kinda wonder about very-high-dividend stocks like that... given that so many people are desperate for yield, might not the stock price be inflated above where it would be otherwise? |

Amidst the downturn and bloodbath.... Bought $20k each of two stocks with high div, low debt, small cap and pretty solid and stable income. They are down considerably with the market. Both appear to have some downside protection to income with long term leases: BMR - BioMed Realty - leases space for biotech research ADC - Agree Realty - leases space for malls |

Good Morning. Management claims the Mexico facility is prepared to ramp at this point if the orders come. However, in previous conference calls management has claimed that big potential end users have been hesitant to commit to fiber (in some cases) because they questioned the ZOLT's ability to meet the order flow. I think that is why they are building inventory. The Company could move counter-trend on meaningful news. Things that come to mind would be Tesla receiving significant Gov't incentives, a GE supply contract, a major automotive contract (Evo ?), an airliner supply contract for substructures, or a specific policy statement by the new administration supporting wind power. |

Morning cmac, It seems that we are close to a bottom in the overall market but how long we stay here no one knows. Certainly any up days this stock will move with the market. The question is will they be able to ramp up the new factory in Mexico in a reasonable time to get to their $500,000,000 a year revs? That seems a stretch. At any rate, this is a small company that will be volatile which is no major revelation. I am thinking about buying a little here. Maybe a couple hundred shares |

Margin improvement should follow capacity utilization. Precursor inputs to mfg. the fiber rise and fall with the price of oil, so margin should be better in the coming quarter. With the expansion of their facility in Mexico, they are currently overbuilt. Mgmt. has had a generally contentious relationship with analysts, in part due to falling short of concensus. Nonetheless, it's nice to see a small growing company that is profitable in alternative energy. I bought a little at $6 last week and sold most of it. I've been a loser on it too. I think they become more interesting down here, but buy & holders in the stock are living on hope. I see that they released earning about an hour ago. Thoughts? Oh, Tobersella - you would be challenged spell as poorly as i. |

Tobersella, I know a little. It was one the few companies that I could find that is somewhat a pure play on wind. Run by Rumy (sp) Zolt. It's his baby. Main potential in large diameter (> 60 meter) blades or in offshore high wind environment; mooring cables for deep offshore rigs (still in testing); and automotive. Supply the Tesla electric car, some parts for BMW. |

A/B, The thing about satellite radio is that you can escape Howard Stern by choosing a station that plays music, or whatever you are looking for. On FM it seems that every station has Bob and Tom types who blabber on and on about nothing. Sometimes it is possible to find a good independent station that actually concentrate on music, or a serious subject. I think may be because clear channel owns so many stations now, and that is their modus operandi. Deregulation of radio was the worst thing that ever happened. |

Treesloth: You must be referring to Bob and Tom (and their ilk), who got their start in my hometown 25 years ago, were a big hit, and now are national but have devolved into a couple of old farts making junior high school locker room jokes. But Howard Stern on satellite radio is worse, IMO. What's better? |
